Review: Vaseline Repairing Jelly (Moisturizes Lips to Elbows, Can Be an Eyeshadow Base Too!)
It all started pretty simply. I saw a ton of people reviewing Vaseline Repairing Jelly on YouTube, Instagram, and blogs. They all said it’s super versatile. Besides moisturizing, it can even thicken your eyelashes when used with mascara. When I first bought it, I had no idea what it was really for. Eventually, I started using it to moisturize my lips before applying lipstick. But it didn’t stop there. Over time, I found myself using Vaseline Repairing Jelly for all sorts of things.

In this article, I’m going to talk in detail about Vaseline Repairing Jelly, especially my personal experience with it. Take a deep breath before diving into the details, haha.
Packaging

The packaging is so small; it's kind of cute, but it makes me suspicious that it’ll run out quickly. I usually avoid buying mini-sized products because I hate having to go back to the store to buy more when they run out. But after a few months of using it, I realized this product lasts a long time. Maybe because it’s dense (it’s jelly, after all), it doesn’t run out quickly. As you can see from the photo, it still looks like I’ve barely used any, even though I've been using it for almost a year.

Vaseline Repairing Jelly comes in a sturdy 50-ml plastic jar (there’s also a 100-ml one, but I got the 50-ml because that's all they had). The jar is quite durable, with thick plastic, so there are no worries about it breaking or spilling if dropped. The clear packaging allows you to see the jelly inside. I love the lid design, which is attached to the jar. Usually, when I'm in a hurry or not focused, I lose track of the lid. With this design, it prevents that from happening.
Texture & How Does It Smell
Vaseline Repairing Jelly |
Since it's made from 100% petroleum jelly, it feels bouncy, sticky, and soft like glue. The downside of its stickiness is that it takes forever to dry. For example, if used as a lip balm, it doesn't dry and absorbs into the skin quickly. It takes a bit longer to dry and leaves a very rich moisture. It has no scent at all, making it comfortable to apply to the skin. There are no strong smells to disrupt your activities while using this jelly.
Ingredients
Vaseline Repairing Jelly is made from 100% petroleum jelly. Petroleum, or Petrolatum, is a moisturizer commonly used to prevent skin infections after outpatient surgery and as a treatment for atopic dermatitis (eczema).

Among these many uses, I’ve used it for a few specific ones: moisturizing lips before lipstick, as an eyeshadow base, mascara, and eyebrow base. Additionally, I use it as a base for blush-on to make it blend easier and last longer. You can also use it as a highlighter base to give your face a more glowing look!
How to Use
Clean your hands, take a small amount of the product, apply it to your skin, and gently massage until it’s well absorbed. As a lip moisturizer, you only need a tiny bit. Not because I'm stingy (although it's okay to be thrifty, haha), but a little jelly goes a long way in moisturizing your lips. If you use it too much, it’ll feel thick and greasy. When used as mascara or to thicken eyelashes, apply a small amount of jelly to a lash brush or spoolie. Then, gently brush it onto your lashes. For eyeshadow, blush-on, and highlighter base, take a little jelly and tap it onto your eyelids and cheekbones. Apply eyeshadow, blush, and highlighter while the jelly is still sticky.
